What is Nutrition & Health Coaching?

You may hear it called nutrition consultations, nutrition counseling, health coaching or nutrition coaching, but at Ford Wellness, it all pretty much points to the same thing – a partnership between you and your nutritionist to get you on the path to better health!  We meet with you, discuss where you are and where you want to go health-wise, and we work together with you to craft a plan to meet your nutrition and health goals. We make sure that the plan you leave with is something that you are comfortable with, and we move at a pace that works for you.

Who Would Benefit from Nutrition & Health Coaching?

Everyone can benefit from seeing a nutritionist! Some people need to lose weight, some need to manage medical diagnoses, and others may simply want to learn how to eat better.  Some clients come in just for nutrition education, while others come in because their doctor has urged them to do so. If you fall into any of the categories below, you should definitely see a nutritionist for nutrition & health coaching:

What Happens During the Appointment?

We’ll ask about your goals for the appointment. We’ll review your medical history & any medications/supplements you’re taking. We’ll talk about your life, including your stress, sleep, energy levels, exercise, and digestion. We’ll also talk about your food and exercise habits. Then we’ll talk about a plan to support your health journey! Most clients come in for an average of three sessions, but many may benefit from just one or far more than three.  Some people like the accountability of monthly sessions, while others like to schedule one session every 6 months to a year.  It really all depends on individual preferences and how significant your health issues are.

How Much Does Nutrition & Health Coaching Cost?

In-person sessions are $75 for your first consultation and $50 for follow-up sessions.  Virtual sessions are $70 for your first consultation and $45 for follow-up sessions.  Your first session will last for about an hour, and your follow-up sessions may last between 25-45 minutes.  At this time, we do not accept health insurance as payment.

Where Do I Meet You for Coaching Sessions?

In-person sessions are held at 8115 Maple Lawn Boulevard, Suite 350 in Fulton, Maryland. Virtual sessions are held via Zoom Teleconferencing software.  Your nutrition practitioner will send you the link to access your virtual session after you’ve scheduled your appointment.
